DARK GAIA'S PROFILE

I develop games and I write. I have a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing and journalism. I like writing speculative fiction, horror and literary fiction, sometimes all blended together. You can find elements of my writing in my games, because I consider my games to be stories just that happen to have gameplay.

Legionwood 2 Trial Edition Released!
Alter A.I.L.A. Genesis
Ah. Was just saying because the original game was perfectly polished and playable is all; I myself wouldn't have pegged it as being in need of a remake.
But it doesn't matter. AAG is still a great game. I'm up to Chapter 2 at the moment and I'm loving it! The boss battles can be rather hard but so long as you stay focused and don't mash attack they're beatable.

@Idida: Yep, RTP is in there. That's partly why it's so big. Even without the RTP it'd be about 40MB. Thus is VX.
@Antarctic: See, I didn't actually fix the Orb of Origin in this version... Rather, Rift now just drops the equipment. I guess that means you can't get it now. But it isn't really neccesary to beat the final boss.

Just out of curiosity, I've always wondered this; Why did you decide to make a remake of a game you had released just before this one? I mean, wouldn't you make a sequel or two first?
Craze's Let's Play! Topic
I'm watcing Legionwood now. Hmm... I really thought I'd fixed the REFMAP tiles. Duh, stupid me, I actually must have forgotten to replace the Tile E.
Nice to see that the level cap script is no longer making all enemies have 1 HP.
I really need to fix the caterpillar though. It's really ugly! I'm no scripter so I have no idea how. If you can do me a favour, can you open up the game in VX and look at the script for me? Maybe you'll know what to do.
Also, I'm aware that I really need to work on the writing in some areas. I figured you were most concerned about the ellipses, so I uploaded the version with them removed and now I intend to sit down and rewrite a lot of the cutscenes from scratch. The game pretty much runs off a dialogue script I wrote in 2008, so that would explain the poor quality.
And I must be pretty bad at RPGs... When I say that the game is difficult, it's actually because I personally found it challenging (for example Efreet killed me). But of course, I was test playing it to make sure it worked, not to get overpowered. But I digress.
Pins of Creation are used to open up the optional uberboss' dungeon.
The holes in the ship... I really don't know why they're there. Let's chalk it down to the fact that the ship has been damaged in the squall.
Wentz cannot ever leave the party - but Clancy sure can.
Also, I think I might add some different enemy types to the castle and ship areas. They're the only areas in the game that have only one enemy type.
Damn, I thought I removed the countdown from the Hydra fight. It makes no sense. Oh well, I'll have to make sure I do it.
EDIT: In response to your comment about the missing and evading being reminiscent of DnD, you are correct; we played Legionwood as a DnD campaign years ago and I wanted to somehow preserve the combat. I'll admit it is annoying though.

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords
I see... So it's the AP system that lets all you guys get overpowered.
@rubyrinx: Yeah, there was a dud script making the enemies all have 0 HP. I fixed it now and uploaded a new one.

Legionwood Build 5 (aka Craze's Build)
Thanks for that Deckiller. I'll keep that in mind; didn't know that I could do that.
@Rubyrinx: What do you mean you can't leave Klaim? What's happening when you try to leave?

This is out!
Awesome! I've been waiting to play this since the original AA. I love the style of the cutscenes and the side scrolling exploration.

Four Heroes of Light ~ In Soviet Russia, Battles Target You
I didn't like it so much. The story was admittedly decent and the combat was fun sometimes, but I expected more in the area of exploration. Just felt as if something was lacking.
